- The Consistent Student: This plan is built for you. The fewer lessons you miss, the bigger the discount you receive! Save money AND get the most out of your lessons.
- Plan on cancelling frequently? If you expect to miss lessons frequently, this membership is not the right fit. You would be better served by our individual drop-in rates.
Key Points:
- Student Cancellations and Rescheduling – If adequate notice is provided per your teacher’s policy, a makeup may be scheduled at a later date. Please note: refunds are not available for student cancellations. Makeups and rescheduling are dependent on your teacher’s availability and are not guaranteed.
- 30 Day Notice for Stopping Memberships – Please be sure to give us 30 days notice before your next billing date if you plan to stop your membership. Shorter notice can sometimes be accommodated but it is not guaranteed.
- Teacher Cancellations – Teacher absences will always be credited back to the student. If lessons stop unexpectedly or if teacher cancellations become excessive, a pro-rated refund can be issued based on the number of cancelled sessions.
- Secure ACH Payments – To maintain these discounted rates, memberships require payment via bank transfer (ACH). This is handled securely through Stripe; we never see or store your sensitive data.
Note: If a child is approaching an intermediate level, or if the student is a dedicated adult, longer lessons may be recommended. We are open to discussing alternate membership options for these types of students.

Our Philosophy: Why Weekly 30-Minute Lessons?
We are often asked why we prioritize this specific format for new students. It comes down to our goal of creating a lifelong passion for music. There are so many benefits to learning an instrument, but to get those benefits, you have to catch the music bug, and the number one thing that keeps students engaged is PROGRESS! No one enjoys something that they can’t seem to get better at, lack of progress breeds frustration and low self esteem. Students who don’t progress usually quit. Our goal with this deal is not simply offer affordable prices, but to incentivize the behaviors and habits that build that lifelong passion by rewarding consistency with DISCOUNTS.
1. Weekly Lessons Often students have the instinct to schedule lessons every other week to save money. The problem with this schedule is that the gap between lessons is far too long for the beginner stage. It is very hard to remember the details your instructor mentioned during a lesson that happened over a week ago. Practicing habits are far more likely to slide when you have 14 days on your own, and cramming 14 days of material into a 30 minute is overload at the beginner stage. Every other week CAN work (especially for very self motivated adults) but the likely outcome is very slow progress, leading to frustrating lessons, and often, students quitting.
2. The “Goldilocks” Time Block We have found 30 minutes as the ideal lesson length for beginners. It’s plenty long enough to absorb a weeks worth of material, with a little extra time to get warmed up and locked in, while still being short enough to keep young attention spans engaged. Longer lessons are great, especially for a serious musician, they can allow a more relaxed pace, more time to get to know your teacher, play together, built in practice time, listen to songs etc. Longer lesson times can be a luxury for new students but can potentially be detrimental for beginner students. Learning a new instrument is hard work, and when the student’s brain, fingers, and attention span is exhausted, the teacher needs to fill the remaining time. This can often end the lesson ending on a frustrated and discouraging note. After a lesson like that, the last thing the student wants to do when they get home is practice what they just learned.
3. The Real Secret to Progress It’s not really a secret at all. It’s daily focused practice sessions, even very brief ones. The short lessons leave students feeling excited and energized to practice, and frequent lessons quickly pull a student back on track if they fall off their routine. The weekly 30 minute lesson is the tried and true method that has consistently yielded results.
