Bands are groups that meet weekly under an experienced teacher’s guidance and include a ‘Big Show’ at the end of each semester. Students are grouped by age and musical taste, and all ages and musical styles are welcome.
As a musician, private lessons with a good teacher should always be the backbone of a musician’s development. Similarly, solo practice time will always remain the most important factor in a student’s progression. However, joining a band is a tremendous way to jumpstart that development. In a band, a student must prepare songs not only for themselves but for the other members as well. Healthy peer pressure? YES!
Joining a band will give the student a taste of what it is like to work in a group to prepare for that ‘Big Show’ while having fun with their peers in a safe environment.
