Bio
Tom, a musician hailing from Laconia, NH., started his musical journey at the young age of 4 and began performing at local venues on a regular basis by the age of 13. He began studying the drums at an early age with Eddie Barbato (Neville Brothers, Cyndi Lauper). After applying to Berklee College of Music, Tom’s schooling became detoured when he landed on the HORDE Tour drumming with his band “The Mudhens,” supporting artists such as Neil Young, Beck, Ben Folds Five, Primus, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Ween, Medeski Martin and Wood, and Soul Coughing. Soon after this tour, he found his way back to the stage opening for Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Jimmy Buffett. During this time he was also performing with the NFL football star Doug Flutie in his band as the lead singer and bass player. With the Flutie band, he supported Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bo Diddley, and Meredith Brooks, performed live on the Howard Stern show, 3 Super Bowls, 2 Canadian Super Bowls, and numerous NFL televised events. As a songwriter, Tom has had songs on US and Canadian radio as well as TV shows including, Party of Five, Scott Baio is 40 and single, Y2K, Sony Pictures Classic Movies, and numerous ABC soap operas.
When Tom is not performing live, he is very passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience while teaching others who share a similar passion. As a multi-instrumentalist, he is able to understand the role of each instrument and help students focus on how they can grow individually as a player and as a member of a larger group. His love for all styles of music makes it easy for him to adapt to the student’s particular interests and musical preferences.
